Spectrum Analyzers Span 3 Hz to 26.5 GHz

SAN FRANCISCO—International Microwave Symposium 2006—June 13, 2006—Aeroflex today announced the new 3280 series, a line of 3 Hz to 26.5 GHz spectrum analyzers designed to provide performance far beyond the price tag–offering impressive RF and microwave specifications, exceptional connectivity and many ease-of-use features at an affordable price.

The 3280 series has a very high level of accuracy, ±0.15 dB up to 3 GHz and other performance features include excellent local oscillator (LO) phase noise <-115 dBm/Hz at 10 kHz offset from 1 GHzand+18 dBm third order intermodulation performance. Digital Intermediate Frequency (IF) offers resolution bandwidths from 5 MHz to 1 Hz.

The Windows XP operating system, internal hard driveand built-in CD ROM make the 3280 series extremely easy to use and allow for a wide range of interfaces, including LAN access, USB, RS-232, IEEE 488 (GPIB) and VGA outputs. Centronics parallel ports are provided for printer, mouse and keyboard connectivity.

The 3280 series has a large 10.4 inch TFT LCD display that gives the user ample viewing area so data can be seen easily, even in split screen mode or with multiple windows open. Three traces can be displayed per window and as many as nine markers can be selected with a marker table viewable in an alternate window.

In order to simplify the evaluation of many common measurements, the 3280 series offers several built-in functions, including: channel power, adjacent channel power, occupied bandwidth, spectrum emission mask, third-order-intercept (TOI) measurement, harmonic distortion, X dB down and phase noise measurement.

The Aeroflex 3280 series includes the following three models:

  • 3281 with frequency range from 3 Hz to 3 GHz
  • 3282 with frequency range from 3 Hz to 13.2 GHz
  • 3283 with frequency range from 3 Hz to 26.5 GHz

These spectrum analyzers currently offer an optional tracking generator and will have additional options available soon. The 3280 series spectrum analyzers are available in eight weeks upon receipt of order.
